*** Merry Meet ***We are a collective group of people who have one Issue in common.We believe that the Litha Celebrations that are celebrated at Stonehenge on the 21st of June are ruined due to the atmosphere of certain Party goers.95% of the people who attend on this very special day know nothing of Litha or why spiritual people were originally give open access to the sacred stones of Stonehenge.Instead, they party, drink to excess, openly sell and buy drugs, Stand on the stones, scream, shout, swear............ We saw with our own eyes people exposing their selves urinating buy the heel stone..........What we want is StoneHenge to be treated in the way it should be. It is a sacred monument, Our sacred alter, Lets try and get it to become that way again.We are NOT trying in any way, shape or form to make any adjustment to the Glastonbury festival. That is a festival that is nothing to do with Litha and StoneHenge.Glastonbury is a FANTASTIC music gig...... Many thousands of people have such a magical time and so they should! Stonehenge has been given open access for spiritual people to watch the sunrise over one of the most sacred alters in England.Many people come from all over the world to see the sun rise......The Oak king fall and the Holly king rise.This is What Litha is all about, The Summer Solstice.What isn't acceptable is the what happens at Stonehenge, the religious intolerance and the fact that as the years go by many spiritual people will not attend due to more party goers going......the lack of control over the situation...... Even the druids Who fought for open access were being insulted and targeted by overly drunk people. There were approximately 15,000 people there; singing, dancing, drumming, chanting, juggling and swinging lit poi. It was fabulous. The stones were completely open.In 6 years it has change beyond all control.The police and stewards think they are managing the Open access but they are not! There are many things they can do to improve the situation, like cut the alcohol consumption down, have stewards patrolling the long walk to and from the stones, And stop the open display of taking and selling and buying drugs as well as people exposing their selves and urinating in public.

I'd like to meet:

We would like to meet people who Believe in spirituality and believe that we should be able to worship our deities with out having to have it ruined by party goers, and people who insult and think our faith is nothing but "absolute bullshit" ~ a quote from this years visit from one such Party goer.We are looking for support from people who want to help us return Sacred sites back to the spiritual people who want to worship there and treat them with the respect they deserve.Online petition - Save Litha At StoneHenge
