About Me

If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time. Life is full of ups and downs, surprises and regrets, happiness and sadness, dreams and disillusions, success and failure. All our lives we always oscillate between these situations. Until now I can say I have lived pretty much all of them and they have taught me valuable lessons. I have learned that you can take advantage of every situation in life, and I mean every situation. Loosing is what teaches us to win, it teaches us to cherish and value the moments of victory and glory. Being sad distinguishes moments of happiness. And when you think you are living the worst nightmare and that all the world has let you down, those are the moments we should take advantage of. Those uncomfortable and unfortunate situations teach us to grow and mature as we get older. But most of all it teaches us that life is amde of moments, there are the moments we take advantage of and the moments we let go. Every individual has the power to choose what effects them and what does not; it is just a matter of will and mental power. We have come to one of those moments in which we leave our best friends, our parents, and most of all a familiar place we know as home. Now our floor is rocked, and we are faced with the challenge of developing ourselves in strange and odd environments in which we know no one, it's only us and the moments. We will encounter weird situations in which we need to decide if we will sit back and play it safe or risk it and have the time of our life! ----- Anyways, my name is Jose but everyone knows me by Pipe, Pips, Pipeton, Maco, Gordo [mom]. I just turned 21 [7/3/86]. I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia [yes that's where people will say "El que lo vive es quien lo goza - Carnavales de Barranquilla!] I have two older sibilings [Gonzalo & Rodrigo]. I'm definately a momma's boy and what! I have a beautiful niece by the name of Estefania aka TEFIIIIII. I graduated High School at Karl C.Parrish Class of 2004. For college, I attended Purdue University and graduated Class of 2007, Majoring: Biology/Pre-Med and Minoring: Nutrition. For Med-School, I started at University of Miami but didn't even finish my first semester due to some family problems. Now I will be attending Med-School at Columbia University - got a full scholarship yay! YES I WANT TO BE A DOCTOR. But not any kind of doctor, I want to be PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY-ONCOLOGY DOCTOR. What does it means??? Pediatric [working with new borns till the ages of 21] Hematology [dealing with a lot of blood and anything related with the blood] Oncology [children with cancer, yes its a horrible disease!] But I am planning to study at my best to give parents not a 15% chance survival but a 100%! And why did I Minored in Nutrition because after all the chemotherapy, radiation,IVS, biopsy's,etc etc, I have to maintain my future patients nourished! My dream job is to someday work at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or open my own Hospital specialized only with cancer patients. Yes, its a long road ahead of me but if I put my mind into my goals - trust I will go further than what teachers told me I will never reach! Besides the whole studying with books here and there. I like going to the beach, having an amazing time with friends and family [by the way I am very family oriented - so don't you dare mess with my relatives!], partying, clubbing, drinking occasionally and many other fun things and I'm up at trying new things in life! Any other questions AIM me at PipeFnMyr
