I am a 21 month old little boy fighting for my life. I was diagnosed at 6 months old with a rare childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. I have had six rounds of chemothearpy, stem cell rescue, stem cell transplant, radiation and I am now on a long treatment of accutane. This drug helps my cancer stay away. My doctor considers my disease "stable non-progressive". My goal is to educate many on my disease and to help find a cure. My mom and many of my family members are tyring their best to get my story out there. You can also follow my cancer fight at my website that my Uncle designed for me. www.austinakin.com
September 27, 2006 Update
I found out today that my cancer (Neuroblastoma) is back. They found tumors/masses behind my right eye by my temple/skull and also one in my chest. I am starting new rounds of chemo and will have a non-family member cord blood stem cell transplant as long as I respond to my new chemo treatments. Please visit my blog to keep up with my day to day fight. On April 2,2007, on my second birthday, my Mommy and Daddy were told that my cancer was back a third time. This time it was too aggressive for treatment. It was my time to go. I recieved my angel wings on April 6, 2007, Good Friday. Austin's Blog
