barn burning, monkey wrenching, and chaos theory.
God and Satan. Maybe even in a battle royal. That would be the ultimate clash!
Punk, metal, rocknroll, blues, jazz, and anything else that is real music, made by real people, with real heart, soul, and hopefully some real intelligence too.
If you want to see a long list of shit I like, check out The Cooters myspace page.
The first movie I ever saw was "Star Wars" in 1977. I was six. The second movie I ever saw was "Saturday Night Fever" and my parents covered my eyes and ears through much of it. Needless to say it was a let down compared to "Star Wars" and pretty much every other movie I've ever seen has been a let down too.
Nevertheless, I also love...
"Decline of the Western Civilization" Parts I & II;
"Another State of Mind";
"Blues Brothers";
"They Live";
"V for Vendetta";
"Lord of the Rings";
"Escape From New York";
"Heavy Metal";
"Spinal Tap";
"Conan the Barbarian"
and "The Destroyer";
"Flash Gordon";
Mad Max trilogy;
"Braveheart";
"The Man Who Would Be King";
"Falling Down";
"Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind";
"The Butterfly Effect";
"Batman Begins";
among others...
I'll add some more later...
I love music videos and even more, I love compilations of music videos. Some of my favorite music video compilations include DVD and VHS by Sonic Youth, Dead Kennedys, Sepultura, Voivod, The Cure, Beastie Boys, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motley Crue... I wish more bands would put together releasable DVD compilations of videos set to their music!!!
I dig musicials too. My favorites are "Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Nightmare Before Christmas," "Grease," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "South Park," "The Muppet Movie"... Does "The Blues Brothers" count as a musical? What about "Spinal Tap?" Seems like they are...
"The Young Ones" is the best sitcom ever!
You've also gotta see the first two episodes of "Duke of Hazzard." This is what its all about in the South (and I'm not talking about the edited version they sometimes show on TV.) Talk about fighting the system like a true modern day Robin Hood... too bad too many other episodes were pretty much useless... does anybody even remember Coy and Vance?!?!
My favorite cartoon is probably Futurama edging out The Simpsons just barely. Mainly I feel that way cause The Simpsons is far too Mainstream these days. Southpark is still hilarious. I like that they push the envelope.
My friends would probably tell you I'm a news junkie. This is true. Even though I "don't trust the things I see" and "what I read I don't believe," I also believe in monitoring the situation on planet Earth. Yeah, I'm expecting the shit to go down any moment now... and you know what? You gotta keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Go figure.
I also dig Robot Chicken!
