My early childhood instilled an undying love of well-written songs when I absorbed Jerry Jeff Walker and early Jimmy Buffett and a lot more off my dad's 8-tracks. A little later I'd broaden my tastes with everything from Van Halen to Run DMC to Black Flag to Hound Dog Taylor and P-Funk before it all came full circle. I came home from college one holiday in 1992 and pored through the old 8-tracks, and "Viva Terlingua" blew my mind. I'd forgotten it until it all came flooding back into my head and I knew what I wanted to do. Every since then, I've talked myself out of that thought over and over again but it won't go away, and so here I am still writing songs. I have been a lawyer and a magazine writer before. I'm married with a beautiful daughter and another on the way and my dream is that one day artists will record my songs and take them to a bigger audience and my girls will know their dad as a songwriter and not as the guy piecing together freelance jobs and wishing. real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools
