About Me

Andrew Lum & New Asia is a collaboration of musicians from around Asia with award-winning producer, arranger and composer Andrew Lum, who is the driving force behind the creation of a new genre of Asian world fusion music - aptly named New Asia.
The group has performed around the world in cities like Chicago, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin and Kuala Lumpur. In Singapore, Andrew Lum & New Asia are the feature of many high-profile events, product launches, ad campaigns, world music festivals such as WOMAD as well as for the Singapore Tourism Board, the National Arts Council and foreign dignitaries and visiting heads of states at state banquets in the Istana.
Over the last 18 years, Andrew has worked on projects with prominent talents such as Ryuichi Sakamoto (Last Emperor), Goh Hotoda (Janet Jackson, Madonna, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller), Kenny Wen, John Kaizan Neptune, Ara Malikian, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, V Selvaganesh (Remember Shakti) and Jorge Calandrelli (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon).
Nearer home, he has collaborated with top Asian artistes like Stella Zhang, Sky Wu, Tang Na, Kit Chan, Andy Lau, Dick Lee, and Sammi Cheng.
Andrew scored for the TV mini-series AlterAsians, which won the Finalist Award in the New York Festivals and his compositions have won many international songwriting awards including the USA International Songwriting Competition, the ISC as well as the Billboard World Song Contest. His compositions used by the phenomenal 12-girl band Jyuni Jyoshi Gakubou has sold over 3 million copies in worldwide.
