As a member of “Deee-Lite”, he debuted from U.S. label Electra in 1990. Their debut album, “WORLD CLIQUE”, received the Gold Disc all over the world. 4 singles in a row topped the Billboard Dance Chart. “Groove is in the heart” topped in both UK and Australia Chart and peaked at 4 on the Billboard Pop Chart. From the year 1994, Towa Tei moved his business base to Japan and releases his first solo album,“FUTURE LISTENING!”, and makes a head start over others in the “lounge” field. As a D.J., he has been performing at big festivals and at top class brand parties, and does music selections for V.I.P parties. His energetic performance and also his own event, “Motivation”, boast a high mobilization. 2007, he started a music production company, “hug inc.” and also started the label called “hug Columbia” with Columbia Music Entertainment, Inc. In recent years, both as music production as well as a composer, he will be involved in a lot of commercials for hot-selling products, for example he produced lots of main sounds of DoCoMo's mobile "amadana N705i (NEC)". Also he's producing one of japanese popular compilation series called "MOTIVATION", And he did the creative director for AYUSE KOZUE’s first album, A♡K, also worked on the soundtrack of the movie Dai Nipponjin, which is the first movie directed by Hitoshi Matsumoto and is now on sale. In addition, he will be producing Itao Itsuji’s debut single, which will be released in March, 2008.

1990年、"ディー・ライト"のメンバとして米エ レクトラよりデビュー。デビューアルバム『 ワールド・クリーク』は各国でゴールドディ スク受賞、シングル4曲連続ビルボード・ダム³ã‚¹ãƒãƒ£ãƒ¼ãƒˆ1位、「グルーブ・イズ・イン・㠂¶ãƒ»ãƒãƒ¼ãƒˆã€ã¯è‹±ã€è±ªå·ž1位、米ビルボードポ ップチャート4位を獲得する。1994å¹´ã‚ˆã‚Šã¯æ´»å ‹•ã®æ‹ ç‚¹ã‚’日本に移しラウンジというフィー㠃«ãƒ‰ã®å…ˆé§†ã‘とでも言うべき1st Album『Future Listening!』でソロ・デビュー。DJとしては自身 のレギュラーパーティー「MOTIVATION」、ビッ゠°ãƒ»ãƒ•ã‚§ã‚¹ãƒ†ã‚£ãƒ´ã‚¡ãƒ«ã€æ§˜ã€…なトップ・ブラム³ãƒ‰ã€VIPãƒ‘ãƒ¼ãƒ†ã‚£ãƒ¼ã¸ã®å‡ºæ¼”ãªã©ã€ç²¾åŠ›çš„ã«æ´ »å‹•ã€‚2007年、音楽プロダクション hug inc. を、そしてコロムビアミュージックエンタテ インメントと hug Columbia を立ち上げる。また音楽プロダクション兼作 曲家としてヒット商品のCMに携わる事も多く㠀è¿‘年ではamadanaによる DoCoMo「N705i」 のサウンドプロデュースを担当。人気コンピ レーションシリーズ「MOTIVATION」監修。クリム‡ã‚£ãƒ†ã‚£ãƒ´ãƒ»ãƒ‡ã‚£ãƒ¬ã‚¯ã‚¿ãƒ¼ã‚’務める AYUSE KOZUE の１stアルバム「A♡Kã€ã€æ¾æœ¬äººå¿—ç¬¬ä¸€å›žç›£ç £ä½œå“ 「大日本人」 の Original Sound Track 、サウンド・プロデュース作品となる板尾創 路のデビュー・シングル『少年B』が発売中〠‚6月には新曲「A.O.R.」TOWA TEI feat. LINA OHTAを収録したコンピシリーズ最新作『MOTIVATI ON 7』など発売予定。
