The management and staff of The 3rd Place Comic Book Store, Crow Street, Temple Bar are pleased to announce the second annual Dublin City Comic Convention. This year's con will be held in the Tara Towers Hotel on Dublin’s Merrion Road on November 17th and 18th.
The two day event will see Dublin play host to some of the comic world's finest talents. From guest of honour Jim Lee (artist on Batman, Superman, X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc) to comic book legends Mark Millar (writer on The Ultimates, Marvel Civil War, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Superman Red Son) and Steve McNiven (artist on Marvel Civil War, Marvel Knights 4), to fan favourites Doug Braithwaite (Artist on Justice, Universe X, Captain America, Doom Patrol) Ben Oliver (artist on Ultimate X-Men, The Authority, Judge Dredd), Michael Avon Oeming (writer on Omega Flight, artist on Powers), Jock (artist on The Losers, Judge Dredd, Faker and Green Arrow Year One), Carlos Pacheco (artist on Superman, J.S.A./J.L.A., Superman/Batman, Green Lantern, X-Men, Fantastic Four), Adi Granov (artist on Iron Man, Nova, Fantastic Four), Andy Diggle (writer on Batman, Swamp Thing, Adam Strange, The Losers, Hellblazer, Former E.I.C. of 2000A.D.), Liam Sharp (E.I.C. of Mam Tor Publishing, artist on Testament, Event Horizon, Death's Head, Incredible Hulk), CB Cebulski (writer on Spider-Man, X-Men, The Loners, Drain). Paul Cornell (writer on TV’s Doctor Who and Marvel Comics Wisdom), Irish artist Nick Roche (Transformers Spotlight : Kup, Transformers Spotlight : Shockwave), Irish artist Steve Mooney (Angel: Auld Lang Syne, C.S.I. Dying in the Gutters).
More guests and details regarding portfolio review sessions, panels and exhibitors are due to be announced shortly.
Given the success of last years event in the Temple Bar Music Centre a new larger capacity venue was required and the con has grown from one day to two. Directions
The Tara Towers Hotel, Dublin 4, is located on the Merrion Road minutes from Blackrock Clinic and St Vincent’s Hospital and close to the RDS, Lansdowne Road and UCD.
From Dublin Airport:
Taxis: Taxis are available from the taxi rank outside the airport arrivals terminal. The journey to the hotel will cost approximately €30-€40 depending on traffic.
Dublin Bus Airlink / DART : Take the 747 or 748 bus to Connolly Station then take the DART (train) going South to Booterstown Station, the Tara Towers Hotel is across the road.
Dublin Bus : The Tara Towers Hotel is serviced by 5 bus routes and all of these routes stop directly in front of the hotel:

    Number 45 From City Centre (Eden Quay) to Bray Number 5 From City Centre (O'Connell St.) to Sandyford Industrial Estate Number 7 From City Centre (O' Connell St.) to Loughlinstown Park, Cherrywood. Number 7a From City Centre (O'Connell St.) to Mackinstosh Park Number 8 From City Centre (Parnell Square) to Dalkey, Ulverton Road

Dublin Rail, DART: The Booterstown DART station is located just opposite the Tara Towers Hotel. This rail system links Greystones in the south of Dublin to Howth in the north of Dublin travelling through the city centre. For information on fares and timetables log onto www.dart.ie .
Heuston Train Station: Take the number 90 Dublin Bus from Heuston Station to Tara Street Station, then take the DART heading south to Booterstown station.
