" KING OF STOWEVILLAGE" After doing a twenty-year bid in a federal maximum-security prison, Kilon Johnson comes home to his old neighborhood that once stood as the Hartford housing project "Stowevillage".Now a changed man, Kilon's focus is no longer on the streets that gave him the name "King of Stowevillage", but on taking care of his mother and making a better life for himself. Kilon’s return to society starts out uneventful until his past catches up with him.His new life slowly begins to unravel and Kilon is lured back into the life that sent him away for twenty years. Kilon is faced with making life choices, which will seal his fate.In 2001, Conrad founded JOCO Films. Since then, he has produced four films, “Bottom Out” (2004), “”Woods of Evil” (2006), “Maya’s Soul” (2006), and “Street Revenge” (anticipated 2007 release; art work not available). In addition to producer, he also wrote, directed and acted in all films. In addition to the production side of the projects, he acted in all films in roles ranging from a criminal, to social worker, to your average guy. Maverick Entertainment Group distributed all films as straight-to-video releases.He is also the Director for “Twists of Fate,” scheduled for principal photography in the summer of 2007.Conrad has numerous projects in development, all ranging in genre and budget.Conrad is preparing to release his first novel, “King of Stowevillage” in the fall of 2007. He also began his second novel “Partner’s Don’t Bow Down.”His experience, which predates his tenure in the entertainment field, has prepared him with a vast knowledge and understanding of cultures, socioeconomic class, and basic understanding of human behavior. Employed as a correctional officer and counselor with the federal prison system, he managed criminals with organized crime and gang affiliations, violent backgrounds, mental and personality disorders, and basic nonconformist behavior and tendencies. He uses this knowledge to create memorable and compelling characters and stories. His diversified resume and experience allow him to bring richness to each character portrayed, each story written, and a level of creativity refreshing to the world of independent film and the written word.
