~MISTRESS ME by VENESHA~PROLOGUE: THE PRE-GAME SHOW
Channing L. Golden got in her car, slammed the door, and started it up. Quickly, she pulled out of the parking lot of her luxury condo and drove towards the barbershop to see her man. She needed to know what was going on, she needed some answers and she knew she could find him there. She had not seen the NBA ball playing Cartier Smith in awhile, just had brief conversations with him concerning business. It was August, the season would be starting soon, and the last time she was with him was on April 17, when the Bucks played their last game of the season against The Pistons in Detroit. Channing sat courtside next to Alonzo Butler's wife, Sheila, and both were cheering in a ‘hood sort of way while having a fabulous time until the Bucks got blew out, losing the game by 34 points. She specifically remembered that game for two reasons. For one, the groupies with hoop dreams were posted up like Shaq in the back court. A young girl named MyAnna Preistly, who was hot as a firecracker, sat directly in front of Channing and along side of MyAnna was a female that resembled the singer Amerie. Now, the look-a-like caught Channing’s attention because, although the woman didn’t bring much notice to herself, she was stunningly beautiful and wearing a real slick designer dress with some Jimmy Choo stilettos while MyAnna, on the other hand, couldn’t stay in her seat. And, the second reason she remembered the game was because Cartier only scored 6 points and had 3 rebounds; therefore, he was in quite a funk afterwards.
Because of the lost, she knew what to expect from him and wasn't very gleeful but was excited about being on the team flight back as she was getting closer to gaining another client. Channing had exclusive access to traveling with them since her foster father was a former coach for the Bucks in addition to her serving as Cartier’s publicist as oppose to simply being his girlfriend. However, she was eager about the opportunity to be in Alonzo’s presence, even though Sheila was always standing three steps behind her man and ready to explode at the sight of other woman’s eyeballs landing on him. For Channing, it was just cool to be near him, seeing that every one knew the rookie would rise to stardom. However, the flight back was too quick for her to close the sell of her services while drinking a couple of Martinis and watching the few games of C-Lo being played by the fellas’ made it seem even faster.
Upon returning that evening, Channing and Cartier spent some very intimate moments together at his home, which unfortunately turned out to be their last time with each because they got into a lightweight spasm. Cartier was tired of her constant flirting with Alonzo and vice versa. But, regardless of the somber mood that Cartier displayed, Channing loved his dirty "drawls" so she constantly tried to assure him that it wasn’t like that at all. She only wanted to represent the man. She did not want to be with him. Her entire childhood, she dreamed of her prince charming shooting hoops in the NBA and had finally acquired him in Cartier.
Channing felt mentally challenged as she kept her Chinese eyes on the road with an occasional glance out of the window. She was on North Avenue, which is one of the more popular roads traveled in Milwaukee. She felt like her Cinderella or Barbie Doll story was not playing out the way she had planned but, little did she know, it would become her own and was nothing like the fairy tales. As Channing drove through the urbaness’ of the city streets, she pondered her obsession with Cartier and the thought of being his wife while remaining confident in her sexual self and looks. So, as long as he didn’t call her to conclude their relationship, she kept hope alive. In Channing’s eyes, the distance had to be some sort of family situation, that or a career problem. She just knew it had nothing to do with another woman and was foolish enough to think Cartier didn’t realize that she was extremely interested in his teammate, even if she didn’t want to admit it to herself.
As she continued to bob and weave through traffic, she couldn’t help recall the first night she became intimately acquainted with Alonzo Butler, the emerging NBA superstar. Channing was introduced to Mr. NBA himself at an affair he hosted at the Velvet Room Nightclub. A local party promoter held the celebration to welcome and present Alonzo and Cartier to the city that they both would call home. The promoter spared no expense with a lavish theme, seafood buffet, and expensive champagne waterfalls placed throughout the chic and debonair establishment. Tony Neal of the Core DJ’s were on the wheels of steel, spinning the hits while the groupie model types were trying to get in with any baller that took interest. They were dressed or undressed in the latest fashions, wore stilettos in every color, and had hair weaves that was swinging as they swayed to hip-hop tunes. Everyone that was considered VIP in Milwaukee was at the party stuntin’ and show-boating their designer duds and expensive jewels.
Channing knew her beautiful face was extremely radiant and full of lust as Cartier introduced her to his teammate who was exceptionally handsome, well dressed, and smelled of a delightful, all too familiar fragrance. She felt warm as the Kitty Kat between her legs became moist as Alonzo Butler kissed her on her cheek and hugged her a bit too long. Recalling the memory caused her to heat up again while sitting at the traffic light preparing to accelerate the gas at any moment. She looked across the intersection then proceeded but couldn’t stop thinking about Alonzo.
