Sonia Hayes, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has pursued her passion of professional modeling and acting since her teen years. She utilized her modeling/acting jobs to assist with financing her college education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She graduated with a baccalaureate degree in Mass Communications with minors in French and Political Science. Throughout the years, she has represented a host of products, which include John Deere, Longhorn Steakhouse and Seagram’s Gin.She has since developed a new passion, writing, where she has spent the past few years freelance copyediting, publishing articles, and preparing women and young adult fiction manuscripts. She believes, “. . . if parents, writers and teachers can persuade the youth to read, there is no doubt our future and their tomorrow will be brighter.” As works of fiction can and should improve lives, she anxiously awaits the opportunity to contribute to this endeavor through her writing.Sonia resides in South Carolina where she is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a volunteer for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Campaign. She possesses an MFA in Creative Writing and hopes to one day teach and inspire the youth to write.
