Dear Diary,
This is my very first entry so it may be a little long but boring it won’t be! My mum, Martina, purchased you for me only a few days ago because she felt it would be somewhat therapeutic to began journaling before my life became way to fabulous and way too busy. I have often heard of writers and important celebs journaling so who am I to turn my nose up on a trend or fad especially when I get a chance to write down my most intimate thoughts, heartfelt secrets and wishes…
I should be paying attention in class but I am one of the smartest students here at ScotchKiss, which is an extradinary and preppy day school here is Milwaukee, Wisconsin. ScotchKiss is an extremely unique high school for several different reasons. It’s located in the heart of the hood or ghetto, it’s a state of the art million dollar facility, and the students are some of the smartest high school students in the nation in addition to its stellar extra curricular activities. The school is private and the tuition is pretty high but I do know that scholarships are made available to certain students if your grades are impressive. The school was started by a group of former NBA players trying to make a difference in the community, which they have. The ScotchKiss Preparatory Academy has been featured in countless magazines from Time and Newsweek to Essence Magazine. It’s a waiting list of at least a thousand trying to get a spot at the prestigious ScotchKiss that seats on thirty-six and Wright. The school is primo diverse and they pride themselves on accepting students of different cultures, which is cool. I have no real complaints about the school itself it’s just the uniform that sucks and all the rules, regulations, and expectations. I think sometimes they forget we are still kids.
Although fabulous I am only fifteen years old and sometimes I get tired of studying and being the captain of the Diamond Divas, which is an elite dance squad that performs at the basketball and football games as well as at countless NBA half-times in and outside of the city. The Diamond Divas are the absolute best and every little diva wants to be a Diamond Diva when they get in high school, I know I did. I can remember watching them performing all over town and at the Milwaukee Bucks games and I knew I wanted to one day dance for the squad. Five years later and too much drama here I am the captain of the squad. Although I know I worked hard for the captain spot a lot of my haters feel it was just handed to me because of my grades and my hip-hop career that is surely on the rise but we’ll chat about that later.
I’m sitting in Reading class and of course we are reading, The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama, which was an awesome book because like a true scholar I read the book in a matter of days. Sometimes I think the teachers here need to raise the bar because we are the smartest and brightest in the state and we really don’t need three weeks to read one book especially about Barack Obama, he is an inspiration to us all. As much as I love Barack Obama my mind is on many different things at present. We have a basketball game tonight against Marquette High School, which is an all boys school so of course they are wack. Our basketball team or should I say my boyfriend Jonather is going to have too much fun toying with their amateur skills oh well such as life. Of course the Diamond Divas will rock the house at half time so I am stoked. We will be dancing to Teyana Taylor’s Google Me and the dance routine is pure hotness! All the Diamonds went and had their hair done yesterday including yours truly so needless to say it’s going to be on and popping.
I am a little beside myself because Jonather my basketball playing boyfriend didn’t call me back last night like he said he would and if rumors were to be believed he was on the phone pretty late talking to Winston whom is the captain of the Drill Diamonds, which is a drill team. A squad that consist of the haters and girls who couldn’t make the Diamond Divas. Winston works my nerves to no end because she is loud, too ghetto, and is too grown acting plus she’s from new money so she’s really not one of us but she’s here at ScotchKiss and has her hazel eyes on Jonather. She doesn’t like me and her family doesn’t like my fam because of an old feud before we were even born but who am I to break tradition?
Oh well my time is up for now and we are getting ready to go to lunch. Jonather is sitting right behind me acting real suspect because I am sure he knows that I know for a fact that he was on the phone with the enemy but me being the fab one that I am will never utter a word. If he wants to hang with the enemy it’s totally up to him. I am too damn fabulous to sweat anyone. It’s just not going to happen, not today, not tomorrow or ever. Well diary double kisses until later and oh yeah please keep my secrets!
It’s ya gurl,
