AudioFreq is a Manchester based DJ/Producer who has been locked underground in his new StudioWorks Recording facility in the city's Northern Quarter for the last couple of months. Finaly coming up for air it was about time to put out some of the sounds that have been shaking from the speakers(that and the fact there was a strong possibility that he may have ended up the last person in the world to get on myspace which would b a bit sad).Blending breaks,techno, acid house, and electro into his own Jakkin Tech Funk style soon to be rocking a club near you.AudioFreq is Currantly unsigned so feel free to contact him if you are interested in signing any of the tracks or would like full versions to play out.You now know about where AudioFreq is at ,but where did he come from. Born Euan Murchie 26 years ago and raised on the remote Isle of Arran.Despite coming from an extremly un-musical upbringing(His parents only had 2 cd's, Meatloaf and Boney M) and not exactly excelling at music in school(It was all about traditional Scottish music which wasn't quite my thing) the young Murco soon developed a strong sense that music was to be his path.His first part time job enabled him to go to Glasgow once amonth(due to his Island location this involved getting up a 6.30am and then catching 1 bus, 1 boat and finally a train) to spend all day trawling record stores for any and every new sound he could find.His first forways into making music came in traditional way of forming bands with people at school which of course all lasted about 2 rehersals before"Musical differences" caused band to split(only to reform next week and so on and so on).During one of these rehersals Euan came across an old 4 track Tascam recorder and was introduced into the world of multi-tracking.This discovery motivated Euan to enrol in a Music Tech Degree at Leeds Met Uni, which by all accounts was a bag of shit.Weather this was because the tutors were old failed bitter musisions or because by now Euan had discovered the joys of electronic music and staying out untill the sun came up and then some more is unknown.With uni being left to the way side(I think I had the worst attendence record ever) Euan started to make his first positive steps into the music world.Around 1999(not to sure this whole period is reported as "being very hazzy")Euan started to work with Local promotions company 24-7 PR.After a few days of blagging his way into the office they agreed to let him hand out flyers in exchange for free entry.Six months later things were going so well Euan was Promotions manager and the whole team flew out to Miami for the WMC.Things were going so well that they had to go wrong and buy fuck they did.Again due to"the hazzyness" ,which buy this point was way out of control, details are a bit sketchy but fed up with getting screwed for money , poster wars, club politics and general bullshit Murco decided to do one and left overnight.Deciding to head off into the sun for some rest and relaxation Euan and a Friend got pissed and showed up at the airport and got the first flight they could and ended up in Lanzarote.Lets just say that things went so fuckin tits up that this episode is refered to as"Fear and Lothing in Lanzarote"Dejected and dismayed Euan headed back to Scotland got (a bit) cleaner, got(a bit) sober and started to get back to the love of music for music and not playing Mr Big time Charlie Promoter.Saving his pennies(except for his record buying fettish) He started to put together a studio(first in his perants garage, the neighbours loved that!)and try to forge out his own sound.3 years ago Euan Touched down in Manchester and has just finished building StudioWorks recording and AudioFreq was born to cater for the Jakkin Tech Funk sound being crafted in the Studio deep under ground in Manchesters Northern Quarter.As well as the Teck Funk there is a lot of really twisted House bits on the go at the moment,don't know if they will go under AudioFreq or some other name, will keep you posted.P.S.
