At 23 Jamie Fisher is still at the forefront of his genre, an eclectic mix of electro house pumped up with a sexy groove. Having graced his first decks aged just 13; it took less than four years for Jamie to become a DJ good enough to keep a dance floor crammed to capacity, aged just 17.
Starting playing in Doncaster (Yorkshire) wasn’t enough, so Jamie pushed himself further a field, playing alongside DJs such as ‘Farley Jack Master Funk’, ‘Dirty South’, ‘Seamus Haji’ & ‘Trophy Twins’. Also gaining a residency at the famous 'Luv Bug' with 'Graeme Park' & 'Alistair Whitehead'
At 18 Jamie proved himself enough to be signed to ‘Gridlockd Records’ & ‘G-Funkd’, having his own productions released under his name and quickly working up the ladder to A&R manager. Having conquered Yorkshire, Jamie began getting bookings from Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and various radio stations.
Jamie now regularly plays in Leeds with the massive Electro house following he deserves, being former resident at Leeds best kept secret; ‘Glasshouse’ for nearly 18 months proved that he can keep over 2000 people entertained every weekend. Each winter the 'Glasshouse' tours the Italian Alps and during the summer months promotes clubs such as 'Amnesia Terrace' in Ibiza
His first release “Just Be Good To Me†sold 1000 copies in 9 days and required a repress to supply the masses. The track also entered the DMC WORLD CHARTS at number 2! Beating such names like Madonna, Eric Pridz & Steve Angelo. The track then got snapped up by the mighty French label, Cyber Production (royal flush ect.) Commercially releasing end of summer 2007, this is going to be a huge track for Jamie.
Not content in just the UK market, Jamie has had his tracks added to Compilation CDs in South Africa, Italy, USA and Germany selling in excess of 90,000 copies.
Jamie already a well respected engineer and engineering tracks for a variety of dj’s in almost every possible genre is now studying a degree in music production at Leeds University. Am sure with Jamie’s determination it wont belong before things really start taking off a big way.
Jamie is also shaping up his own Electro House label; ‘HighVoltage Records’ which as had huge support from ‘Bodyrox’, ‘Sebastian Ingrosso’, ‘Antoine Clamaran’, ‘Noir’, ‘Chris Lake’, ‘Marcella’, ‘DJ Pedro; (the Miami project) ‘Riley & Durrant’, ‘Dennis Christopher’, ‘Rob Tissera’, Cedric Gervais & Filthy Rich just to name a few. Already the label as signed some top producers & got some wicked tracks lined up for next year.
A Few Words From Me
It all started back in a village called south elmsall (West Yorkshire). A small mining village, where nobody is a stranger. It’s classed as Pontefract but in between Wakefield & Doncaster.
It was roughly 1992 and I was about 9 years old. My older brother Gavin introduced me to these dance music tapes by Sven Vath and various other German techno dj’s. It grabbed me really big and I would sit for hours, just listening to each mixed tape.
When my brother went to high school he made a new circle of friends. One of his new friends was Brit Batley, a highly respected hard trance and German trance dj.
After a few years Brit became a close family friend and he invited me to his house to have a play on his decks. After a while I think I did his and his families head in that much, that he bought me a pair of decks just for the peace and quiet.
Whilst at school I liked a wide range of music, from trance all the way through to Daft Punk’s crazy filtered French disco house. When buying records at this stage I never stuck to one genre, just bought what I liked.
Every Sunday my mum would go out for the day, so I would crank up my system and mix through every record I owned. Then I would mix all the way back through the b sides. It used to take me hours but soon as I got started nothing was stopping me until I was through the lot.
I finally got my break aged 17 in an underground after hour’s club in Doncaster, playing trance and hard house. This is where I met some good pals of mine Richard Dolby and Paul Lapel, who got me involved in producing music.
It was late 2003 and the sounds of Antoine Claramen and Agent Sumo were more appealing than the boring hard house riffs and beats so I decided to switch and become a bedroom dj again.
I played at many House nights in Doncaster but finally got a big break through at the Glasshouse in Leeds. I eventually moved to Leeds and became a buyer for record box. I’ve played at most clubs in Leeds and played in a few outside of Yorkshire, including a mix for Juice FM.
I’ve set 3 record labels up; high voltage records, full circuit records & ls city records which are growing from strength to strength. Each label is targeted for a certain area of the house music scene. I’ve had tracks in dmc charts and also do a lot of remix work for other labels.
My plans are to work hard but play harder and to really make a mark on the scene which I love so much.
Thanks for visiting my space
Jamie
