About Me
Shery Bueno Salonga, also known as Queen Herstory was born in the Philippines on July 17, 1989. The same year 1989, her parents and siblings migrated to the United States. She grew up in Southern California on the streets and neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Lakewood, Wilmington, and Carson. She currently resides in Westside Long Beach with her dad. Shery was born with a lot potential. Transitioning from what the society brings to a youth and its surrounding to raise us, doesn't stop Shery from pursuing her dreams. As her familiy's goals to support her within the careers in Business and Nursing, she doesn't let her personal dreams for herself left out. Educating the youth, the community, the people with her music, writings, poetry, arts, and simply just by being herself is what she's all about. She currently interns for AADAP Inc. which stands for Asian American Drug Abuse Program in Los Angeles and co-facilitates, CSM-Carson Student Movement in Carson High School. She's a part of KmB Pro-People Youth, USA and One Imagination. She loves working with the people, being around people, and meeting people. Communication is a big lesson she had to learn to become who is today and will be in the future. Her imagination stretches from the edge of the string to who knows where it will take her. Just as long as she remembers to put time for herself. From performing, competing in sports, singing, teaching, being an actress (hmm, someday), understanding humanity, traveling the world, helping people, to receiving a masters degree ...and the dreams never stops. She wishes to tell other youth and the people out there to keep your head up and never doubt about dreaming or wishing. But an important part of it to make it come true is to put the work and love into it. Going back to her motherland, the Philippines, always reminds her the ghetto life and struggle that will be with her until the end, it's in her blood to struggle. No one can take away your history, we carry a huge culture from the 3rd world ghetto that relates to other cultures being one. As being human she says, "...a lot of people don't understand, I'm only human just like them, a sinner, we're not perfect. But when it's time for me to work (which to me is life), it's time to work. When it's time to chill (I chill like no other, I party just like you), it's time to chill. But we need to make our own choices as an individual and be strong as to flighting for what you want."
