The Committee is a group of politically and socially conscious artists who met through their community work and their common love of music. Our group of MC's, DJ's and musicians from Northern and Southern California aim to Educate, Elevate and Entertain. We believe that through music, we can unite our community and truly build a Mass Movement to support the liberation struggles of Pilipinos here in the US and the Philippines...but it doesn't end there. We stand in solidarity with all those who struggle and resist against Race, Gender and Class oppression.
The Committee consists of C-Los, ilaw, ReVision, and DJ ET. Recently, the group has evolved into a live band with the help of Jason (guitar/vocals), Marking (bass), Arnell (keys), Lost Won (percussion), Emerson (sax) and Darwin (drums). Blending conscious lyrics with soulful, uplifting sounds, we use Hip Hop music as a way to open eyes and elevate minds. SERVE THE PEOPLE!
