ReVision

About Me

Amidst a musical climate of materialism and inflated egos, ReVision prides himself on being an ordinary guy who experiences the same ups and downs as everyone else. More than just a mixtape title, "Forward Progress" embodies his mentality of continual growth and evolution, not just as an MC, but as a person. His music conveys a level of honesty, emotion and a humble confidence that invites the listener to join him on the journey of Everyday Life. As he puts it, "If you wanna know something about me / you ain't even gotta ask / just listen to my raps / because I pour my Heart and Soul out on these tracks."
As a member of a live hip hop band (The Committee), ReVision has performed at various venues and colleges from San Diego to San Francisco. Over the last few years, The Committee has had the opportunity to share the stage with acts like Blue Scholars and Native Guns, the two groups he cites as his biggest influences, as well as Living Legends, Roscoe Umali and Typical Cats among others. His evolution from a "bedroom rapper" to a stage performer has also given him a chance to build with other like-minded artists, many of whom are featured on the Forward Progress Mixtape.
With his first major solo effort, ReVision aims to carry on the mission of his group, which is to Educate, Elevate and Entertain. So whether he's discussing the plight of uncompensated Filipino veterans, the post-college/9 to 5 experience, or taking a satirical look at the MySpace phenomenon, it's hard to deny the passion and soul he puts into his work.
In 2009, he will be working on another mixtape, a solo album and ultimately, the long awaited debut album from The Committee.
