WHAT IS THE BLD?
The Blue Light District is a platform for music and art born of a desire for change (as in alteration, not 'spare any....?'). Our primary goal is the promotion and exposure of artists and musicians work through our website , events, online zine, promotions network, record label, collective, and more. To this end we offer support services to those in creative roles, including merchandising (badges, t-shirts, patches, demo CDRs and more...), design (websites, flyers, logos etc), printing (flyers, posters and more), web services, photography and live sound engineering. More services will be added tr è s soon! We've also recently been offered some retail space in a soon to open South East London boutique, we'll be stocking records, CDs, badges, t-shirts, magazines, comic books and prints for some of the artists who appear on our site , more news on this will be announced soon.
We are a collective of creatives formed on a foundation of similar ideas and ideals; our numbers include: musicians, artists, film makers, animators, actors, performers, graphic designers, computer programmers, writers, journalists, photographers, poets, comedians, promoters, publicans, printers, podcasters, producers, performers, sound engineers, DJs, VJs and a whole lot more!
