About Me

A long time ago in a town far far away a band named Hoarmoaning was formed. After a three year reign, Hoarmoaning dissolved. It looked as if there was no going back, it was time for a new beginning! If Hoarmoaning was the Republic, Cynical Ploy would become the Empire. An army to kick your ass through music. One member to survive the demise of Hoarmoaning, along with Phil, was Boon (now in TT Ryder). The circle was complete & with the addition of Wrath boys Cam and Beavis(who started out on bass chores while Boon was on guitar), the engines were nearly at full power. We just had to write some new shit. So for a few years, several bass players (after Boon was David Stanley then Johnny Brooking, the new bass player in Gortology) and thirty odd songs, later the four legs of the rock war machine stood strong. However, a few years after the forming of The Ploy, a bass player Damo (Insidious, TT Ryder & The Gentlemans Club) was recruited after the unfortunate loss of Boon on the battlefield of rock. As far as we were concerned, the circle was complete...... So we went on and gigged wiv lots of local bands including The Filth, Inebriation, Blue V, Namrepus etc, played most of the Scorpio Partys and national acts D4, Rock And Roll Machine(now 2 members are in Slave Trader), Aussie metal act Atomizer, Las Vegas rock band Jaggedy Ann and others. Plan to release an album at some stage wen the time and finances work out. Meanwhile, Cynical Ploy rocks on........
