ALL I KNOW IS...IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE!
We are living in an interesting time, where the dream of peace on earth, once a very utopian idea, IS within the reach of nations. Today as the scientific and technological advances of our modern world have connected every continent, there seems to be an increasing cooperation among nations. It is my belief that peace IS the next stage in the evolutionary process of this planet that WILL enable it to grow into one global society. HOWEVER, doubts, misconceptions, prejudices, suspicions, self-interest, and old-world thinking hinder us from achieving this goal. CURRENTLY, we are unable to abolish war and its institutions, prevent the threatened collapse of the world's economy, stop the spread of anarchy and terrorism, or alleviate the hunger and intense suffering of millions. It is going to take a lot more than a consultative agreement to fix and change the problems of the world today; it is going to take ACTION!!!

Ever since I was a little girl, I have considered myself a WORLD CITIZEN, passionately in love with the world and everything it has to offer. I would stare up at the sky and wonder what my life would be like if I had been born in Africa, or on some small island off the coast of South America. What if I was an Aborigine walking across the desert, searching for water beneath the sand? I imagined being raised in Iran, forced to cover my face and walk ten paces behind the men. I thought of how unjust the baby girls are treated in so many countries, and I remember crying as images of starving babies in Somalia and Ethiopia flashed before my face. I realized how truly lucky my life had been, growing up in America "the land of the free," and I longed to reach out and embrace my brothers and sisters from around the world, to comfort them, console them, speak for them, and most importantly LEARN from them. I knew that I would never feel complete unless I was doing something, anything in my power, to be of service to the world of humanity. Today, even after many travels and blessed opportunities to work philanthropically in China, Mexico, and here in my own backyard, my feelings have only MAGNIFIED!!!

LIFE for me is about breaking down barriers, the walls that surround us and keep us apart. These barriers separate us from one another physically, socially, and spiritually, and it is time for us to come out of our comfort zones. Life is SHORT, and TIME is RUNNING OUT. I want to strive everyday to encourage the wonderful principle of unity in diversity, in hopes that I can help spark a flame that will engulf this world in LOVE. More than anything, I want to live my life as an example, forever upholding the majestical words of Abdul'Baha, "Look at one another with the eye of perfection...take no thought for yourselves or your lives, whether ye sleep, whether ye are comfortable, whether ye are well or ill, whether ye are with friends or with foes, whether ye receive praise or blame, for all these things ye must care not at all," and always remembering the inspiring words of Gandhi, "Be the change you wish to see in the world." This is my VISION, my HOPE, and my DREAM.............for the time has come to BE THAT CHANGE!!!NOW........ IT'S TIME FOR SOME ACTING..!!!
