Mantric Muse was formed in 1998 and evolved from the band Narnia with Magnus and Michael as original members. In 1999 Søren joined the band. The style has always been cosmic instrumental rock mixed with many other genres. All our compositions have emerged from improvisations, which then have been dissected and arranged. In 1998, Mantric Muse released the CD EP album called, Picks in Space. It represents some of the earlier stuff but some of the songs are still on the setlist or have been "pimped" up and re-arranged.
One question that might spring to mind is; "why haven't I heard off these guys before?". Well, there are many answers to that. One answer is that we're perfectionists. We simply want to work a lot before we release anything. Another answer is lineup changes. Finding a keyboard/synth-player to our taste, in this region has proven to be an almost impossible task. Where are you? And also we have had so many technical struggles and mysterious problems with our recordings that we have felt cursed at times. Finally we have spent time on another project we're in; Øresund Space Collective which is pure instrumental live-jamming.
So where are we now?
Right now we're back to being a trio using sequenced synthesisers to create the musical journeys. This is an temporary solution. As mentioned above we would prefer a live synth-wizard since a sequencer isn't very flexible to jam with. We are currently working on our first real album. Hopefully it will be ready to be released spring 2028. If anyone wants to release it, that is! The release will be followed by concerts.
