The band started as a guitar-duo in 1997, playing little pop-songs.
Since then the group has had several changes of line-up and sound.
Today the band consists of Patrick O.J. Moore (vocals, guitar, mandoline, flute), Markus Zettwuch (guitar, turkish saz, backing vocals, harmonica), Joerg Anders (7-string fretless bass & add. keys) and Markus Arndt (drums, percussion).
The music of Loxley Beade developed paralel to the change of line-up, which has become increasingly more psychedelic and freaked out.
In 2004 the band recorded their debut album "...of transient thoughts and iridescence" for Nasoni Records / Berlin, and recieved a lot of positive feedback.
In order to describe the music of Loxley Beade, it is helpful to look at the album reviews and mention a few keywords:
Hippie-Jazz, groovin.. Art-Rock, Psych-Folk, Indie, hypnotic, progressive, oriental influences, long bridge passages, good weed, effect freaks, ever changing beats-to-the-bar, Pink Floyd, Motorpsycho, etc.
Contrary to much psychedelic music, the lyrics of Loxley Beade, which are written by the Englishman Patrick O.J. Moore, are not about escaping from reality, but treat every-day-themes and social problems in a poetic and often weird and humorous way.
