At some point in 2006, Ron and Billy started discussing the idea of forming a band prior to Billy rejoining The Revelevens. After Billy got back with The Revelevens, he said he would still be up for playing in a second band and the planning phase continued.
Later that year, Ron found himself at a Twisted Sister show in Baltimore with Sean and Shaun. After tossing back a large amount of beer, Sean said he used to play drums and hoped to get back into it. Ron jumped on the idea and recruited Sean as drummer. While at the same show, Shaun was somehow convinced to play guitar for Blinding Eye Dog. Who knows? It could have been the beer.
Blinding Eye Dog recorded I Believe and Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport during their third practice session.
Their sixth practice session was playing a short set at the Sidebar Tavern in Baltimore. It went reasonably well, despite the lack of practice and the large amounts of alcohol consumed prior to playing. Anyone seeing a pattern here with the booze bit?
After suffering through a day of intense heat and insects while in zombie makeup for the film Los Locos vs. The Zombie Squad, Sean and Ron convinced the director to toss one of their songs into the film. The film was screened at the Horrorfind Convention in August, 2007. You can watch it here now too.
After about ten or so practice sessions, Blinding Eye Dog is continuing to put new material together and will hopefully be playing shows in the next couple months, as well as putting together a full length album and getting four songs into Brian Greenwell's upcoming film, Los Locos vs. The Big Bad Wolves.
We recently added a second guitar player in hopes that we might be able to practice more and actually memorize the stuff we've been writing. I've heard that beer helps your memory out and I hope that's true.
