About Me

"Scares That Care" is a not-for-profit benefit held once a year, to provide money, toys and other items to help sick children. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000.00 for the Johns Hopkins Children's Cancer Center. WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL OF $10,000! Thank You All who donated!

Now, The FIGHT Continues! We're at $2,809.39 for the kids at the Kennedy Krieger Institute!

The Kennedy Krieger Institute is a children's treatment center that helps children with Down Syndrome, Autism, Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries, and other forms of illness. When I told them about the huge outpouring of support from Horror Fans, they were ECSTATIC to hear that "Scares That Care!" wanted to collect for them! As always, we have a letter of support, and a contact name and phone number, to verify that we are legitimately collecting money on their behalf!

Led by horror film director and retired police officer Joe Ripple, (who can also be found running the security for the Horrorfind Weekend), this benefit will utilize the fan base of the horror, haunt and Halloween genres to raise funds and awareness for sick children in need. We plan to have a GREAT time holding these benefits, by showing films, having silent auctions and maybe getting lucky enough to have a few celebrity appearances. Our success depends upon YOU.

Our first benefit was a huge success for Ms. Joy Dohler, the mentally challenged sister of the late Don Dohler. We were able to raise over $3,000.00 for her care!

Horror Fans care just as much about children as anyone else. We WANT to HELP!If you know of anyone that would be willing to help by donating time, horror or movie related items or other support -- please have them get in touch!

**We HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN COLLECTING for the Johns Hopkins Children's Cancer Center! We have mailed the final payment, bringing our total donation to $10,000!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who cares about the health and well-being of children!

We'd also like to meet families and kids who are going through this battle. While we are based in Maryland, our goal is that with each benefit -- to donate to different children's centers.

You are -- and always will be -- an inspiration for us all.

May you find strength, peace and comfort.
