CD RELEASE SHOW PICS!! by Don PerryThe Splints, we doubt will be mending any broken bones soon. More like shattering limbs left and right. Bone-crushing rhythms and blood-curdling wails fill the night air.
LD, front-man and guitar player beats hard on a Squire Jagmaster, ripping out pop hooks reminiscent of Weezer with a soul-searching howl found in early Sub-Pop bands. LD has been caught beat-programming for ElDorado and the Ruckus, and is known in certain circles as “FleshEater”. Voted most likely to say, “Hey man, it’s rock n’ roll, whatever….”
Appropriately for a band from Memphis, their debut EP was recorded at Sun Studio. It’s as if you can hear the ghost of Sam Phillips whispering sweet nothings in your ear as the band executes a 7 song sonic barrage, recorded live in only 6 hours.
Nikki Cave, brace yourselves men. Not only does she play a mean bass guitar in a gritty rock band and wail a siren’s song like a rock goddess should, but she skates on a roller derby team and is quite possibly the hottest bass player this side of the Mississippi. She’s the kind of girl you wish you’d get your ass kicked by.
Plagued by drummer issues, The Splints are now on lucky number 13. So Robert Cooper ought to work out nicely.
Since hopping on Lightning Rock Records, The Splints have acquired millions of fans and are preparing to turn them all into Zombie’s with subliminal messages hidden deep within their songs.
