Ballet Hispanico was founded by Tina Ramirez in 1970 to provide dance training and performance opportunities for young Latinos. Ms. Ramirez has since given signature flair to Hispanic dance in America, transforming Ballet Hispanico into the nation’s preeminent ambassador of Hispanic culture. Its three divisions, The Ballet Hispanico Company, School of Dance, and Primeros Pasos Arts Education Program, embody a dynamic mission that inspires an appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of America’s ever-growing Latino population.
