About Me

Hey all! Ok, so I haven't edited this part of my page since I first created it and it's been almost a year now since I joined myspace so I figured it would be a good time to update this section. I first created this page as a means to keep in contact with some friends back in AZ, since I moved from there in May of 2007, but then I quickly realized it could also be used as a tool to reach out to people who don't know Jesus personally. A little about me first, I grew up in church and when I hit 18 I went through a rebellious phase and started to question my faith. I slowly stopped going to church until I wasn't going at all anymore. I started to party and drink and basically began to lead a very ungodly life. About 3 years ago now I re-dedicated my life to Christ and started going to church again and really just started spending time with the Lord and in God's word. As a result Jesus completely changed my heart around. I left the party scene behind and have never looked back. The first thing you'll notice about me is my faith and my love for Christ. Aside from all of that I'm also a dancer so you'll probably notice that right away as well. I'm currently finishing up my BFA dance degree and will be graduating this December. After that, if it's God's will, I plan on pursuing my MFA in dance so that I can teach dance at the college level. I have danced most my life but it hasn't been until the last couple years that I really realized who gave me my talent and love for dance, which is the Lord, and also that I can actually fuse my love for Christ and my love for dance together. I also have been tossing around the idea of starting my own professional christian dance company. God has blessed me with some really great opportunites in my life. I was able to travel to West Africa, London, Paris, and Morrocco in the summer of 2006 as I volunteered for a mission trip. It was an amazing and eye opening experience! Also, this past January (08) I got to go to New York City for a dance intensive through the American Dance Festival. While I was there I got to meet some really amazing people and I learned a lot about life and about myself. I also was able to go to San Francisco and perform at the ODC Theater with some really great dancers. I love you Physical Grafitti! Most dancers are finished in their professional career as dancers in their late thirties but I'm determined to beat this stereotype. I'm in my late twenties now but I feel good and by the grace of God I haven't had any major injuries so I'm still going strong. I also would like everyone who visits my page to understand how much they are loved by God and that He has given each one us a talent that He wants us to further His kingdom with. If you're not sure what your talent is, just ask and seek from the Lord and He will let you know...:) God is real and God is love and anyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved! It doesn't matter what you have done in your past, Jesus will wipe it all clean and give you a fresh start. Give Him the opportunity today for Him to show you not only that He is real, but that He loves you dearly and has a plan for your life. With all that said..... Have a good day and God bless you!!!
I love this piece!!!!

Music:

I love Christian music like Kutless, Jeremy Camp, Barlow Girl, Plumb, David Crowder Band, Seventh Day Slumber and Skillet and so many others. I also love classical music, 80's music and I've recently re-discovered my love for hip hop music, the kind of hip hop that has a positive message with it, NOT the degrading vulgar kind full of foul language.

Movies:

I absolutely love the Wedding Singer!!! However, I could do without some of the language...:) I also like, The Passion, Facing the Giants, One Night With The King, Can't Buy Me Love, Narnia, Sixteen Candles (classic), Just Friends, Better off Dead, Weird Science..and did I mention I like the Wedding Singer?

Television:

Ummm... I like anything on the History channel and I like Cold Case Files and American Justice.. Every once and a while I might catch CSI Las Vegas... I have to admit I even get caught up in some of the reality shows out there, why? I have no idea...haha

Books:

The Purpose Driven Life is a fantastic book! The Bible, The Intimate Act of Choreography, The Ballet Companion, Blue Like Jazz, really anything that has to do with dance I probably read the most, which is sad, it should be anything to do with my faith I read the most.

Heroes:

Obviously the most important person in my life and my hero is Jesus Christ. That's not to sound cheesy but I honestly wouldn't be the woman I am today without Him so I have to give credit where credit is due. One thing I want to say here and that is the world would change a lot faster if each person started changing themselves first and the only person that can truly change someone's heart or way of leading their life is Jesus Christ. People might change for someone else for a while but eventually the old habits come back. Your best defense against old habits returning and turning back into the person you tried to get away from is to have a personal relationship with Christ... :) Trust me I know!!!
