Andrew Tiernan hails from in Birmingham, UK. He studied at the Drama Centre London where he earned his Diploma in Acting.
He recently finished filming Marko Makilaasko's 'Stones War' in Lithuania.
He starred as the legendary hunchback traitor; Ephialtes in Zack Snyder's blockbuster of 2007; "300", an adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel based on the heroism of 300 Spartan warriors at the ancient battle of Thermopylae.

In the role of Ephialtes, Andrew was dressed in full body prosthetics, which took 10 hours each day to complete. The film premiered in March of 2007, with an opening weekend US box office of $70m and the film has made over $400m worldwide.
In 1991, after appearing with Helen Mirren in "Prime Suspect," he landed two major film roles, one as Piers Gaveston in Derek Jarman's "Edward II," the other playing both brothers; Orlando and Oliver in Shakespeare's "As You Like It".
In Roman Polanski's Academy Award winning film "The Pianist" he gave a memorable performance as the creepy Szalas of the Underground, who neglects to look after Szpilman (Adrian Brody) and instead of feeding him, he drinks his vodka and steals his watch.

He appeared as the psychotic Nazi Schenke in Rob Green's The Bunker.
In 1998, in the outstanding series Hornblower; he played the ill-fated yet memorable role of Bunting. Other credits in TV include;
Victor Carroon in The Quatermass Experiment

Kim Trent in Life on Mars

and stuttering murderer, Sean Kerrigan in the award winning "Cracker".
He has worked at the Royal Court Theatre, Donmar Warehouse and Bristol Old Vic with Tony nominated Director; Wilson Milam, two were critically acclaimed productions of Sam Shepard plays; "A Lie of the Mind" and "True West." And Che Walker's Fleshwound with Tamzin Outhwaite.

Mr. Tiernan's acting career has spanned over fifteen years, during which time he has consistently worked and has become a well-known figure amongst fans of high-quality British television drama and feature films. He has enjoyed success working along side some highly respected directors including; Roman Polanski; Nicholas Roeg; Derek Jarman; Bill Forsyth; Bernard Rose; and Antonia Bird, to name a few.
