Roman Polanski was born Rajmund Roman Liebling to Ryszard and Bula in Paris, France on August 18th, 1933.
His family moved to Poland before World War II due to growing racism in France. They were forced by the Nazis to live in the Krakow Ghetto. In the end, his parents were taken to death camps; only his father made it out alive. Roman escaped the Ghetto, with the help of his father, and lived with a Polish farmer throughout the rest of the war. Once the war was over, he was told of his mother's death.
Roman went on to film school in Lodz and received a lot of recognition for his work. Throughout the years he had many career highlights including Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown.
In 1968, he married a beautiful woman named Sharon Tate. [It was his second marriage, the first being to Barbara Lass.] Sharon was expecting their son, Paul Richard, when she was savagely murdered along with their dear friends: Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger and Wojciech Frykowski.
Today Roman live in his birthplace, Paris, and is still creating amazing films. He remarried in 1989 to a wonderful actress, and woman, named Emmanuelle Seigner. They have two beautiful children - a daughter, Morgane, and a son, Elvis.
