About Me
The beauty in life is found by having an open mind and not to quickly judge others. As you can see, by what I have tagged as friends, I enjoy many things in life. I enjoy traveling, many types of music, sports, history, stamp collecting, coin collecting, photography, microbiology, and the list goes on. Recently, I had requested many different styles of singers to join me as friends on my space. Some of the singers I have heard their music already and I look forward to listening to the newer musicians who are working hard to make a name for themselves. One of the singers who I have as a friend on myspace left us at an early age. I have to admit, I first heard her voice on an episode of "Judging Amy". This female vocalist voice could be heard near the end of the program singing Sting's big hit, "Fields of Gold". I only had the title of the song to work with. So, don't get mad at me, I went onto Napster and typed in the title song and came up with several female singers associated with the song title, "Field's of Gold". I already knew Mary Black's voice and knew it wasn't her. Although, she to, sings a great version of this song. Then, I came upon some woman named Eva Cassidy. I played the song on Napster and said, Wow! This is her! I was hooked onto her music from the first note. So, I proceeded to go out and buy all her cds. As time went .. listening to her first cd, "Songbird" a millon times, I found out that Eva had passed away. I later read her biography on her life and had mixed emotions. I was very sad that she died but I realized that fate allowed us to hear her even after she was gone. The one thing, I admired about her the most was she stuck by her guns when it came to her music. When the music producers tried to get her to sing one type of Genre of music she turned the producers down. Man, she could sing anything she wanted to and she sang it beautifully. She said, I record all my music or none at all. The music producers finally gave in but it was near the end of her life that they finally approached her. I guess the moral of this story is, you record the music which you want not what someone else wants you too. Like the Film, "Field of Dreams" where someone said, "Build it and they will come". In this case, sing your music you were meant to sing and the fan following will come eventually...
