About Me

Trish Foti Genco is a New Orleans native known for her emotion-packed performances. Classically trained Trish studied voice at Texas Christian Univeristy and is a graduate of Louisiana State University. A Music Minister in the Catholic Church for over twenty-five years, she has served as Cantor (St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans), Music Director (Immaculate Conception Church in New Orleans) and a religious educator. Trish has also devoted herself to Catholic Music Education where her focus is on childrens music liturgy, and the inspiration of our youth.
As a seasoned performer, Trish Foti Genco has performed throughout the South including the Dallas-Fort Worth Opera, Robert Shaw Chorale, the Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre, and numerous regional theatres. She's been featured on the 2005/2006 series "Backstage" for EWTN, National Council of Bishops 2006 Easter Mass, WLAE TV weekly Mass broadcast, and Sacred Heart Radio Network. She has received several UNITY AWARD nominations presented by the UCMVA (United Catholic Music & Video Association).
Trish Foti Genco is no stranger to the recording studio either. In 2003 she released her debut album titled INSPIRED which featured sacred arias mixed with contemporary hits. In 2004 she followed up with her sophomore release, a meditative project titled IN THE STILLNESS. Both of these CD's received critical acclaim but it was her 2006 release that truly caught the attention of industry professionals. While in the midst of recording her CD-the wrath of Hurricane Katrina forced her family to evacuate and Trish had to leave behind her project to weather the storm. Her community was devastated but her music was somehow protected. Trish called on Nashville producer-Joe Hand and a year later she released AFTER THE RAIN. According to Trish "There are pieces of many stories here...part of the total experience of our community. Indeed, we have all been changed by the past year. Hopefully, we are all better in some way for our experiences. My prayer for all of us is that "After the Rain", we will all emerge, stronger, wiser, and more grounded in what really matters."
Trish Foti Genco is not alone in her music. She uses exceptionally talented musicians on her projects and gives full collaborative credit to Dreux Montegut who not only is a brilliant pianist, but a mentor and friend. Dreux Montegut is Director of Music for the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, Louisiana where he directs the Cathedral Choir and the St. Louis Boy choir. Dreux has been a member of the Loyola University voice faculty since 1994. He is a graduate of Loyola University and holds a Master's from Eastman School of Music. He holds an Artist-Teacher diploma from the Chorale Music Experience Institute.
In 2007 both Trish Foti Genco and Dreux Montegut pair again this time on a CD titled IN HIS PRESENCE...The Gift Of Christmas. Trish hopes that during the hectic Christmas season that you will be inspired to just stop and ponder the true meaning of the Holy season and really get to the heart of John 1: 6-18 "AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US." Trish Foti Genco performed at a significant number of concerts celebrating the music on this new CD and with a grateful heart is pleased to announce that the first printing completely sold out.
On December 31, 2008 "Inspired Classics" ill burst upon the music scene. Industry insiders are anxious to hear this collection highlighting Trish's classical background.
