Shock Cinema Magazine

Your Guide to Cult Movies, Arthouse Oddities, Grindhouse Trash, and Underground Obscurities!

About Me

Founded in 1990, SHOCK CINEMA is an essential guide for any fan of bizarre films and dvds, and each issue is crammed with no-bullshit movie reviews, in-depth interviews with cult celebrities and filmmakers, and original poster art. Published and edited by Steven Puchalski , this proudly-independent magazine covers a mind-bending array of celluloid obscurities -- horror, blaxploitation, sexploitation, demented art films, long-lost drive-in gems, obscure TV, documentaries, sci-fi, musical misfires, mondo movies, and everything else in between.
"Some of the best bizarre film commentary going...with sharp, no-nonsense verdicts."
- Manohla Dargis, The Village Voice
"One of the few review zines you can actually read and learn from... You need this."
- Joe Bob Briggs

"Shock Cinema is like riding the A train in the summer from the George Washington Bridge to the Deuce to see "Bucktown"...This is the only magazine I can totally relate to."
- William Lustig, director of MANIAC
