Victoria Lynn Schultz has first climbed onto a piano bench to play music as the age of four and by seven was composing original melodies, At fourteen, she studied with concert pianists Nelson and Neal.
Victoria continued her studies in piano, voice and composition to earn a Bachelor of Music Degree from the conservatory of Music at UMKC and a Master of Music Degree from Drake University. After playing the harp of a friend, she became enchanted with the beautiful tone that only a harp can produce, and discovered the perfect medium for her unique original sound.
With a lineage that has been traced back to the MackIntosh castle in Inverness, Scotland, Victoria Lynn has returned to her heritage to specialize in the harp music of Ireland and Scotland. Traveling to Europe to train with the experts in Irish and Scottish harp, she has toured with the legendary Grammy Award winning Irish band “The Chieftains” as a featured soloist. She also toured and performed with Josh Groban, Clay Aiken, Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack. . .
Also an accomplished vocalist, Victoria has performed as a soprano soloist with the Florida Symphony Orchestra. Her pure soprano voice has graced many solo vocal performances singing for such dignitaries as Mother Theresa.
Victoria was chosen to demonstrate Celtic harps for a National Television Holiday Special to showcase “The Harp Connection”, She is listed in “Who’s Who of American Women” and has won almost every award in her field of music. Her “Celtic Suite” for harp won the FHF “Original Music Competition” award, and “Mystic Waters” received the FHF People’s Choice Award.
After five solo albums, a meditation CD, and being featured on 6 compilation CD’s, her solo album, "Soothing Harp" which included four of her original compositions, was released internationally by Madacy Records, and was a featured item in the Avon “Inspirational Treasures” Catalogue. Her CD’s, “Harp Dreams” and “Harp Meditation”, reached 1 in the Instrumental and New Age charts for MP3.com. Her music and publications are now available worldwide at Barnes and Noble, Target, the Healing Gardens, and harp music distributors and can be heard on radio stations as far away as Siberia and Germany.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: victoriaschultz.com
Band Members: 'Celtic Harpist, Composer and Recording Artist'

Influences: Loreena McKennitt, Lisa Lynne, The Chieftains, Clannad, Celtic Women, Andreas Vollenweider, Enya, Kim Robertson, Grainne Hambly, Dervish, and all things celtic, medieval, and folk.

I was trained as a classical pianist and was influenced by the music of Van Cliburn, Rubenstein and others, but I also loved the popular arrangements of Roger Williams.

I grew up in Tennessee, so I have to say that Patsy Cline and country music is a personal favorite, but I love music of all styles ranging from Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell, to Madonna to Steph Carse.
