I'm working over at Mezcal these days, on Colfax, across the street from the Bluebird. Come down and get some $1 tacos bitches!!! It's like a dream come true! I've always wanted to work on Colfax, every since I was a little girl. I just thought there would be more spandex and high heels involved. For the last 3 years I was a booking agent booking bands for local venues and I really enjoyed it for the most part. But a few months back, I started getting restless and ready for something new. Booking put me in the office for over 30 hours a week and that's just not me. Now, I'm really enjoying having days off that are actually mine and I'm not waking up thinking about booking and falling asleep thinking about booking and worrying about booking while I'm otherwise trying to enjoy myself. It's a nice change. I still love dive bars and all the people I've met and the friends I've made over the last 3 years. I've met more cool, interesting and amazing people hanging out in all of the places my father warned me about than in any suburban, corporate or religious place I've ever been. I'm sure my life will lead me into the next adventure, as it always has but for now, I'm happy where I'm at. I am definitely staying a part of the Denver music scene. These days I have more time to attend shows and actually go and see some of the bands I've been booking for years! I'll see you all at the next one!
