Coeur de Lion - Celtic Ren Faire Music

About Me

Michael Peters began playing at the NYRF in 1983. In 1988, he met Chris DeSimone who began working there as a concessioner and then as a musician. Michael and Chris played some sets together and in February, 1989 decided to develop some music together. In March, 1989, Michael met Grace at a fitness club in NJ. He invited her to come to a rehearsal. The results were good, and the three formed a group to perform Celtic and Ren Faire music at NYRF and other venues. The group was known as Akasha. In the early 90's, Chris went to California and Akasha disbanded. Michael and Grace took on other projects. When Chris returned to the North East in 1999, the group reformed, this time as Coeur de Lion. In 2002, Chris took a one year leave and Kevin Hildebrandt joined Coeur de Lion. In 2003, Coeur de Lion became a quartet when Chris rejoined the group. Our CD was recorded during 2002 and 2003 and was released in July of 2003. Our farewell concert was given in February of 2004.Please visit Michael Peters (Flute and Whistle player for Coeur de Lion). This is my primary MySpace presence.
