Patrick "Patch" Mullis aka Mullito is an all-round artist/drummer/percussionist responsible for polluting the world with an infectious and creative talent. He is renowned for live drum and percussion performances enriched with an extremely raw, dirty and very individual style of bass and rhythm.
The rollercoaster ride of beating drums began at 11 years old and has continued to progress at a rapid rate over the last decade. Mullito has previously written and performed with several different artists/bands but is best known for his artistic talents within the band "Mother's Bloom" throughout the late 1990's. As times changed, Mullito's knowledge of electronica music began to grow and the deep, dark and funky beats that the genre demands have now become something of an obsession. This was around the time that he discovered Roland products and their fantastic range of electronic V-drums/percussion. Mullito quickly established an obvious electroacoustic cross-over in his playing which over time has become his trademark. Everything from drum n' bass to breakbeat, minimal to house and samba to disco-funk has been accomplished by Mullito and his Roland V-Drums and acoustic set-up over the recent years, developing a very distinctive style which is considered by many to be unique to the UK music scene.
Once his music studies were finished, Mullito felt it necessary to re-locate from Leicestershire to Yorkshire to continue his upwards progression within the music world. He helped co-found the record label "Leuce Rhythms" in 2003 with which he continues to write/perform electronica music of the highest quality with other talented artists (myspace.com/leucerhythms).
Recent projects have seen Mullito collaberating with Hale D'Vibe under the title "LowBox" which has become an instant success (Estatic remix, Order Of Progression), as well as significant contributions towards the percussion on other tracks such as "Grudio" (Hale D'Vibe/Leuce Rhythms), "The Hydra" (Hale D'Vibe/Leuce Rhythms), "Off The Kuff" (Hale D'Vibe/Leuce Rhythms), "You Know What You've Got" (Hale D'Vibe/Leuce Rhythms) and "Bass Drop" (Hale D'Vibe/Leuce Rhythms).
Mullito also deals with much of the promotional side of the business for the Leuce brand, constantly looking to push their music across the globe and bring a piece of Leuce into the lives of a diverse mixture of people from all different walks of life.
He still manages to keep in touch with the acoustic side of things by playing the caixa for "Batuk Brasil" (all percussion 18 piece live samba band) and regulary performs around the north-west area and beyond. Various performances are available on YouTube for your viewing pleasure and a recent video performance has also been uploaded onto this page so please take the time to have a look and leave your feedback.
Mullito prides himself on always looking out for new, interesting and exciting projects to get involved with and would definitely like to hear from any other artist(s) interested in collaberating with his unique style of writing/performing. Any labels looking for an accomplished percussionist/drummer to lay down some tracks, start or maybe in fact complete a band or group (electro or acoustic) should contact Mullito through this site immediately.
Rough demo tracks (played live) will be added to this page very soon so please leave your feedback accordingley.
It is very much appreciated.
