About me: I arrived in Australia at the age of seven from Graz Austria. My music career basically started around '64 when I was inspired by the great Hank B Marvin to play the guitar and after seeing the Beatles perform live I decided that playing music was going to be my life. In '65 my band The Amazons scored a record deal with festival records and since then I have never stopped working as a professional musician. In '67 I jumped at the chance to play lead guitar for pop idol Johnny Young, and later joined Tony Gaha And The In People, featuring Ron Barry and Janice Slater. I soon was fortunate enough to team up with Geoff Oakes & that started my lifelong love affair with soul music, at the same time discovering my musical guru James Jamerson. From there it was straight into the stage musical Hair & next I formed the band Birth with jazz legend Roger Frampton and english drummer Tony Hicks from Backdoor. In 1970 I joined Jeff St John And The Copperwine and we scored a top five hit with Teach Me How To Fly. Around the same time I recorded a live album by Australia's greatest female blues artist Wendy Saddington, 'Live At Walacia' & this was followed by a stint with heavy band Blackfeather. I then started my long stint as Renee Geyer's bassplayer beginning with the great soul band Mother Earth & around that time I also started my long association with Kevin Borich. In the late seventies I was fortunate enough to be part of the great Barry Leef Band featuring guitar maestro Stevie Housden, enjoying a residency at the Musicians Club for two years - one of my most cherished gigs. From then on I have had some great gigs with Jimmy Barnes, Marcia Hines, Joe Walsh, Australian Crawl, Billy Thorpe and being part of the Long Way To The Top House Band, Leo Sayer, Phil Emmanuel, Ross Wilson, Russell Morris, Brian Cadd, Matt Finish....the list goes on... Some highlights have been jamming with Leon Russell ,Billy Preston & Ronnie Wood. A fairly long and colourful career which continues to this day.
