About Me

Ben Cripps is a Musician(Electric/Double Bass Player) originally from Sydney, now residing in Melbourne, Australia. He decided violin was not his instrument and began playing bass at the age of 15 playing punk rock with mates from school. Soon after he played with various funk and rock bands and at age 18 he landed his first national tour and recorded with Australian pop band "Radio Freedom" who had two top ten hits in the early 90's. This led Ben to join forces with songstress Lisa Maxwell(Kate Ceberano, Wendy Mathews, INXS) and co-wrote 3 songs and played bass on her album "Wish"(Sony/Dancepool) which contained two top ten hits in Japan. Ben completed the Associate Diploma in Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is currently performing and touring with ARIA award winners " Human Nature ". He has been playing bass for Human Nature for over 9 years now and has recently recorded bass on their new album "A Symphony of Hits". Also working with the likes of: Smokey Robinson , Mary Wilson (The Supremes) , Paulini , Doug Parkinson , David Campbell , Paul Mac to name a few.....he also records and performs with original Dub/Funk/Jazz outfit " Junglehammer " who feature the vocal talents of Lily Dior and Iota (tracks above from thier album "Strange Fascination").
