About Me

www.youtube.com/thepublicpunditThe Public Pundit's aim is to bring viewers and readers substantive political analyses on the events surrounding "Campaign 08".Basing presentation on historical, literary, and comparative context, TPP will offer either straight up or Devil's Advocate angles on the unfolding campaign and often discuss events and facts that the mainstream media fails to address. In both blog and video format (via youtube.com), TPP hopes candidates, campaign workers, volunteers, voters, lurkers, and other fellow members of the media offer their thoughts, responses, insults, ripostes and opinions and help expand the debate. Each video posting will also offer a piece of "Recommended Reading", books that have offered excellent insight into understanding campaigns, candidates and elections.Video presentations will ocassionally be punctuated with "Fireside Chats", brought to you from a different fireside location.Political correctness is not the aim in the scope of discussion. It is as in poor taste as outright vulgar propaganda.Political correctness was as useful to honest dialogue as Jim Carey is to comedy. I think everyone from Voltaire to Machiavelli, Kinky Friedman to Lee Atwater would agree - about the political correctness thing, that is.The Political Pundit is a "political animal" in the same prescient and broad definition that Aristotle offered over 2300 years ago.TPP is a freelance journalist, writer, reporter, and a producer at a major market 'News/Talk' station. TPP posesses over 18 years of experience in print media, radio, and some TV - serving in any number of capacities from DJ, program host, editor, et al.And he is under 35.A former touring musician and music journalist (as far as "journalism" can be used to describe such an endeavour) and former member and founder of a number of seminal underground bands with citically acclaimed releases to their credit, TPP left the polluted world of the music industry to pursue his parallel love of journalism. Oh, TPP worked in the film industry for a while too, until SARS came and totally destroyed the film industry in Toronto, Ont., Canada that is.The Public Pundit looks forward to all the Hegelian and Socratic interaction your heart desires.
