Screaming Blue Murder are a female fronted genre-defying rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland who formed in Spring 2005; fusing together a hybrid of melodic punk rock, post-hardcore and metal, they are often compared to bands such as Alkaline Trio, Tsunami Bomb, Misfits and AFI. With inspiration and lyrical themes derived from influences such as the macabre, cult media, metaphorical prose and the darker side of the human psyche; this band have confirmed themselves as a darkly poetic and honest portrayal of humanity.
S.B.M. consists of Morgan Murray (Vocals), Tommy Smith (Guitar), Graeme Boyle (Bass) and Nic Ross (Drums).
Tommy and Morgan, who had been writing together since 2003 as part of a bedroom-based acoustic project met Nic on an online forum in Winter 2004. The trio began rehearsing and writing in the early months of 2005; they were soon joined by Nic’s school friend, Graeme.
The completed four-piece line up began practicing regularly and within three months composed and recorded their Debut E.P “The Awful Truthâ€, which was later released independently online and have since released another 2 E.P's "Better Dead Than Breathing" and "3 Hits From Hell".
The band proceeded to gig regularly, in and around the Edinburgh area, gaining a strong following both locally and on the internet. The band have also gained support slots for signed and touring acts such as; Michale Graves, Trashlight Vision, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The Vibrators, Eddie And The Hotrods, Emilie Autumn and Anti-Product.
