Andonis
Designer of the Built Environment, born in Greece ,lived and worked in Australia,Finland,England,India. Spirituality and Myth I like to think of architecture as frozen music. Architecture is art .This art influences people more than any other art media. If this art is not executed correctly it can affect your mood, wellbeing and your environment. It is sculpture that you also live in, paintings are hung on its walls, and music is composed from it and all great music is performed in it. This art you are in contact every day and you cannot escape from it like you can in a museum.Since art is an expression of one's self then it is impossible to understand art without knowing yourself first. These mystical roots have lead us to the Egyptian pyramids ,and those of ancient Mexico. Would the Greek temples and Gothic cathedrals have existed? Nor would the Renaissance and the Baroque have come about. And in other fields, would the ritual dances have developed? Would we now be the heirs of the inexhaustible artistic treasures worldwide? Without the desire for knowing ourselves, our planet would be a sorry wasteland of ugliness. The irrational logic harboured in the myths and in all true mystical experience has been the fountainhead of the artistic process at all times and in all places. Beauty speaks like an oracle, and ever since man has heeded its message in an infinite number of ways, it may be in the use of tattoos, in the choice of a dress, a piece of jewellery or again, in the apparently superfluous ornamentation of everyday tools and domestic utensils, not to speak of temples and palaces and even, in the industrialized products of modern technology. Human life deprived of beauty is not worthy of being called human. It is in silence of our gardens and homes when one contemplates and finds his own silence .Only in this intimate communion with solitude and silence man can find himself. Serenity is the great and true antidote against anguish and fear, and today, more than ever, it is the designers duty to make of it a permanent guest in the home, no matter how sumptuous or how humble. Creativity is allowing you to make mistakes. Art is to know which ones to keep. On philosophy I can only say. “When I was a young man I thought I knew a lot of things, when at middle age I realized I knew some things and some things I did not know. Now that I am older I can definitely tell you that I know nothing “-SocratesMySpace Layouts pet friendly hotels myspace codes myspace layoutsmyspace codes myspace quiz Myspace Video Codes
