Jackie Tice

Songwriter * Artist * Peace Worker

About Me

Jackie Tice is a songwriter, artist, educator, Peace worker and mother of two teenagers. Born of mixed Native American (Cherokee/Crow) and Old European/Gypsy ancestry, Jackie draws on her ancestral roots to set her personal worldview into universal images.
Winner of the 2006 Indian Summer Music Award and the National Kerrville Award for Emerging Songwriters, Jackie Tice is a unique voice among acoustic performing artists. Her recent CD, Second Skin, is produced by 2005 Native American Grammy winner, Bill Miller.
An active proponent for Peace, she performed by invitation at the 2006 United Nations International Day of Peace in New York City. Among those in attendance were Michael Douglas, Jane Goodall, Yo Yo Ma and Sheika Heya Rashed Al Khalifa, President of the 61st General Assembly of the UN.
She is the founder of All Nations Peace, an International gathering of musicians from the Four Directions of the Earth, standing together as a World Tribal Peace Council in the spirit of Mitakuye Oyasin - "We Are All Related."
Jackie maintains a busy touring schedule and is also a teaching artist, presenting arts-based residencies through a federally-funded grant program, Art as a Way of Learning. "Hers is a voice that needs to be heard." Grammy Award winner, Bill Miller
