Piano Piano Pianoooo!!

About Me

Hello everybody! Thank you for visiting myspace! Enjoy my music. See you in the sunshine!!!!!!!
Manami Morita was born in Saitama, Japan in 1984. She started to play the classical piano at 4 years old. At that time, she hated piano lessons because the classical piano didn't attract her. On the other hand, she loved to play just as she liked and felt. At the age of thirteen, she met jazz. In jazz situation, I can do whatever I want!!
Though she had never had a chance to study music as education, in 2004, she fortunately got a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music and decided to change her life (she used to be thinking to be an English teacher or a flight attendant) by coming to the United States. In 2006, she started her career at Berklee and to seach her own music based on jazz.
In 2007, she was selected as one of the four featured pianists at Berklee and awarded Mary Jane Earnhart Endowed Scholarship. Also, in 2008, she was honorably selected as this year's representative of Jazz Composition Department at Berklee from its faculty members and awarded Herb Pomeroy Award.
