About Me

Miss Whitney is a vocalist & pianist from Atlanta. She specializes in the genres of Gospel, Contemporary Christian, Jazz, Neo-Soul, and R&B. Whitney began studying music at the age of five, where she studied classical piano with Dr. Shirley Blankenship of Champaign, IL for eight consecutive years. When Whitney moved to metro Atlanta at 13 years old, she then studied contemporary styles, such as R&B at Douglasville's renowned Ms. J's Academy of Music. After two years of studying at Ms. J, Miss Whitney decided to focus on her songwriting and vocal development.Miss Whitney currently attends the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She is in the process of completing a Bachelor of Music Degree with a concentration in Music Therapy. She is currently studying voice under the instruction of Gabrielle Goodman. Whitney has participated in many performance opportunities and continues to enhance her performance skills. Miss Whitney enjoys producing and song-writing, which is a talent that she is consistently enhancing.

Band Members: Just recently, Miss Whitney had the privilege to organize a concert and perform with Calvin Fenner of Atlanta (drums), Reuben Cainer of London, England (bass), Naoya Rick Sakurai of California (piano/keys), Owen Ross of Boston (guitar), Peter Handy of Boston (alto saxophone), David Dunkin of New Jersey (trumpet), Dan Puccio of New York (baritone saxophone), Camille Harrison of Toronto, Canada (vocalist), Tremayne Youmans of Florida(vocalist), and Jenae Jones of Boston (vocalist). She claims, "these are some of the most humble Berklee musicians I've ever performed with. I admire musicians that can bring something to an experience individually that overall enhances a show into this collection of creative noise. It's beautiful!"
Influences: Miss Whitney grew up listening to a mixture of music. Anything from Beethoven, J.S. Bach, Aretha Franklin, Kirk Franklin, Jodeci, Maxwell, Tupac, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Sade, Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters, Billy Joel, and even Celine Dion. The list goes on, but she is primarily influenced by people that take their artistic gift seriously and offer a musical experience to the rest of the world in the most purest, genuine form.

Must see this movie!!

You HAVE to see this movie. Yes it's a chick flick but a very good love story at that. It's just nice to see a decent movie that shows that people can still love the way God actually intended...
