astakut arrived from Japan in 1988 and was immediately taken by the Blues Dance scene in South London. He took interest in rare groove records and began DJing at the leading black community radio station Genesis 91.6 fm from 1992 and continues to do so to the present day.**Having more than ten years of DJing at Genesis on Saturday nights as well as South London clubs under his belt, he has built his own unique yet diverse selection of music, centering around soul.**His spot on Genesis Radio is for the music connoisseurs. His first hour of set features music from jazz records labels such as Impulse Records, Milestone Records, Prestige Records, Black Jazz Records and soul artists such as Leroy Hutson, Curtis Mayfield, Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, and Maze.
**The second hour is the Lovers Soul Selection, a long-time favourite for many listeners, especially the ladies.
