Poet-Trees and Grass-Roots is an exploratory journey into the evolution of spoken word: from its birth in African oral tradition, to its present transformation into various art forms. We examine the underlying essence and events which cause humanity to express itself in a poetic fashion. What is poetry? What are its forms? What causes poetry? What are its roots and how has it branched out since times of antiquity? Through a qualitative analysis, through primary research and interviews, we answer these questions and more. We take it a step further by asking, what is poetrys next evolutionary phase?
