Ladies & Gentlemen - Hepcats & Kittens, welcome to the official myspace page for the legendary Darrel Higham & The Enforcers - Darrel, Adam & Les are still out there touring the clubs and pubs around the globe, bringing modern rockabilly mayhem to the new generation.
Regarded by many as perhaps one of the best British modern Rockabilly bands of the last decade, the boys have worked with original rockin' legends such as Billy Lee Riley, Rocky & Billy Burnette, Terry Noland, Roc LaRue, Sonny Burgess, and provided the musical entertainment for the wedding of Stella McCartney. Sir Paul joined the lads onstage for blistering versions of Honey Hush and Long Tall Sally, and proved beyond doubt his rockabilly credentials are second to none!!
As a solo artist, Darrel has worked in the West End production of Jack Good's Elvis: The Musical, toured with Shakin' Stevens (as guitarist on the 1999 UK tour) and recorded with Jeff Beck and Chrissie Hynde. He has also toured and recorded with Stray Cat legend Slim Jim Phantom. Other artists Darrel has worked with over the years include Merrill E. Moore, Lee Rocker, Paul Burlison, Johnny Carroll, Don & Dewey, The Kelly Four, Glen Glenn, Linda Gail Lewis, Screamin' Lord Sutch, Wee Willie Harris, Graham Fenton, The Jets, John Lewis, Vernon Taylor, Alvis Wayne, Boz Boorer, Carlos Mejuto, Alan Mills.
The Enforcers have 7 CDs released, their latest - A Monochrome Dream - is available on the UK label Foot Tapping Records right now.
The band are also endorsed by Peavey UK. The company provide the lads PA and backline equipment, and Darrel designed the Peavey Rockingham - a semi acoustic guitar that has proved to be an excellent seller for the company.
Darrel also co-wrote, with respected author Julie Mundy, the first biography ever written on his main musical inspiration, Eddie Cochran. Don't Forget Me - The Eddie Cochran Story was first printed in 2000 through Mainstream Publishing (Watson & Guptill in the USA), and is still in print.
To order a copy in the UK & Europe go to Mainstream
For the US go to Watson-Guptill
Darrel also co-owns Embassy Studio, a 16 track recording studio in Upton Grey, Hants and runs Ambassador Records with Foottapping boss, Clive Duffin.
