About Me

The ball started rolling at the end of 98 and we spent the first couple of months finding our own sound and building a set list. We played frantically through 99 and released our self-financed demo CD, Lets Have A Ball. In January 2000 we bagged ourselves a gig for a local promoter, at a weekender in Cyprus. This attracted overwhelming interest, not just from the audience but also from DJs Wild Cat Pete and Hound Dog Jim, whose influence on the scene gained us several larger gigs in and around London. From then on everything just snowballed, the more we played the more gigs we got. After a couple of personnel changes we decided to complete our happy-go-lucky bunch of misfits with a couple more, all with the common interest of playing rockin music and having fun......................................................... .................................................... In May 2000 we were approached by Steve Chapman and signed a deal with Spindrift Records to officially release our demo as a debut CD and so Lets Have A Ball hit the stalls, worldwide! The CD was getting played regularly at hops around the country and the whole thing seemed to jump up a gear. We were suddenly on the bill for major rockin events and national venues and after a steady stream of gigs throughout 2001 people were becoming familiar with the name Rudy La Crioux & The All Stars....................................................... ....................................................2002 kicked in like a hopped-up roadster in overdrive! Gigs were coming in fast and furious. Apart from our normal gigs we were honoured to support legendary guitarist Scotty Moore at the Tennessee Club, plus a two-date support for The Comets, courtesy of Ritchie Gee. We were also lucky enough to get a foothold in the North with a fun packed weekender in Skegness and more gigs followed. Various record labels were pushing us to record another CD and that brings us nicely into 2003........................................................ .....................................We consolidated our northern connection and gigged throughout the year from Edinburgh to Plymouth with the likes of Paul Ansells No9 and Darrel Higham, great bands, great guys. With the material ready for the new CD World Keeps Turning, recording started in early 2004 and was released in October. As punters weve thoroughly enjoyed going to all the weekenders and now as artists playing at two of our favourites - Americana International (July) and Hemsby (October) along with the Club gigs throughout the year........................................................ ..................................................2005 was a blast with plenty of new clubs played meeting new friends along the way. We decided to book a small tour of Connecticut over in the USA thanks to Michelle at GO-KAT-GO radio and Johnny of the Road Agents Hot rod club. One of our most memorable moments was to play alongside The Cobramatics from Rhode Island, what a great bunch of guys. WE managed to record a couple of numbers for Alan Wilson at Western Star Recording Studio, which he put out on the Western Star Rockabilly compilation albums. ............................................................ ............................................................ ...... 2006 This year brings us another album and some more weekenders to play at (Wildest Cats In Town), (Americana) and (The Rockabilly Boogie 3). Along with the rise of Burlesque we have also had some bookings for some of the clubs that are putting on shows. We are also booked to play in London a couple of times this year, which will be fantasic as we haven't played here for a few years. Along with gigs up and down the country we are looking to meet our old and some new friends this year and most of all have some fun.........................The audiences weve played to and the bands weve met along the way have made the last six years a blast, and were still meeting new friends and playing new venues. God willing, well have many more good times to come, so if you wanna have a ball, tag along for the ride, youd be more than welcome.
