Oddgrooves is a company that makes royalty-free drum patterns in standard MIDI format, arranged for Toontrack EZ Drummer and General MIDI. As our name suggests, we specialize in odd time signatures. All grooves are played live by Berklee educated polyrythmic master drummer Magnus Brandell using a triggered drum kit. The MIDI libraries are available for purchase online at www.oddgrooves.com .
The first two songs at our profile are demo songs that showcase the MIDI libraries.
OddGrooves is also a band in the progressive rock/jazz rock genre with a debut CD currently in the making.
OddGrooves are:
MAGNUS BRANDELL (drums & percussion) is educated at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Gigging/recording credits include Par Lindh (PLP) and William Kopecky (Kopecky, Far Corner), Nicke Wöhrmann, Sara Lindvall, Jonas Knutsson, Ale Moller, Frank Adahl, Thomas Nyman, Goran Flood, Hakan Persson, Ulf Hammarstrand, Bosse Bjerkerot and many more. Magnus also teaches drums and percussion.
PER ULFHIELM (guitars, keys, bass) developed his interest in music from listening to his mom’s Beatles records when he was a young lad. He soon discovered progressive rock, jazz fusion and hard rock and picked up the guitar in his early teens. He has played in numerous cover bands since the late eighties and also composes original music for corporate events, tradeshows etc. Recording credits include Celebration Gospel Choir and prog metal band Phantomime.
