About Me

I am an independent amateur podcaster who produces and hosts the

Cleveland Celtic Podcast .
Download iTunes
My goal is to produce bi-weekly podcasts featuring the best Celtic-inspired progressive and rock artists today. The show is free to both artists and listeners with no paid ads- it is non profit. The purpose of the show is to promote the music of the artists. As a result I ask permission to play music royalty-free. To date there are over 120 artists who have granted permission to play their music on my podcast.I am a former contributing author to Green Man Review... lack of time forced a hiatus, but I hope to return to it one day. I'm a fan of all kinds of music, from classical to jazz, bluegrass to metal, but folk rock and celtic rock are my favorites.I honestly believe in supporting artists by PURCHASING their music, and view files like those on my space and legal podcasts as "free samples..." in the end, if I like a band, I buy the whole CD or download it from iTunes. The purpose of my show is to introduce talented artists to a target audience, and help some great bands gain new fans.
You can hear my show and find out more about me at Cleveland Celtic Podcast , where some of the very best Contemporary Celt-influenced musicians can be heard!

NOTE TO BANDS AND MUSICIANS:
If you would like to participate, please e-mail me directly at [email protected]. Please indicate whether permission is limited to the songs downloadable on myspace or your band web site, or if it applies to all of your music, or just a specific song. If the download option is not available on your myspace player, please direct me to where I can download music for podcasting. Please note that even if you have added me as a friend on myspace, I still need a note from you specifically giving me permission to podcast your music. Thank you!- Wendy

For Music Lovers
Do you play an instrument? (Which ones?): I wish I had time to learn a folk instrument
If yes, how old when you started to play?: Played Baritone age 14-18 in High School, don't remember how to play now
What is your favorite type of music?: Folk Rock, but I like pretty much everything
Do you have a favorite band or musician?: Depends on my mood! I get on kicks with one artist or another, but no one sticks as my all time favorite
Was the 1st music you ever bought a record, cassette, CD or MP3? Title?: Vinyl Records- "The Originals" by KISS
What was the most recent album/song you purchased?: The soundtrack to "Happy Feet-" for my kids, but I have to admit I like it too.
Have a (vinyl) record collection? How many?: Between Hubby and Me, we have hundreds, but no turntable to play 'em
Have a CD Collection? How Many?: I've lost count. I've loaded 1482 into iTunes on my computer but that's just a portion of what I actually have.
What's in your car CD or cassette player now?: Brigid's Cross "The Parting Glass"
Favorite radio station?: Don't listen to radio much, but when I do it's usually Q104 FM or AM 1100
Favorite podcast or internet radio?: So many good ones! A few I listen to lately are Irish &Celtic Music Podcast, Highlander Radio, Paddy Rock Radio
First concert you ever attended (not at a festival?): I think it was ShaNaNa! Either that or KISS. Saw them both around the same age.
Most recent concert you attended (not at a festival?): Glengarry Bhoys
Furthest you've ever traveled for a concert (and who was playing?): Usually if I travel it's for a festival. For a concert the furthest I go is Columbus or Toledo. We get a lot of great peformers right here in Cleveland!
Name a cool venue to check out live music in your area: Stampers Grill Pub
Last festival you atteneded: Pittsburgh Irish Festival
Furthest you've ever traveled for a festival: Fergus, ON
One of the best Live shows you've seen: John Cougar Mellencamp, Scarecrow Tour, 1986

Did you ever own an 8 track player?: Nope, but my parents did- my Mom still has it! My Dad used to play reel to reel audio, too.
Do you remember when MTV played music videos exclusively?: Oh yeah, I was an 80's teen
Do you like to dance?: Love to, but that doesn't mean I'm any good at it
Do you sing? Do you think you can sing well?: I can carry a tune
